This interactive workshop was developed for translators who have no or limited experience with SDL Trados Studio (2019). The day starts with an introduction to the fundamental concepts of translation technology to better understand how Studio works. After that, you’ll learn how to use Studio. You will also learn how to handle confidential information in SDL Trados Studio. During the workshop there will be plenty of exercises to become an independent user. Throughout the day, any question related to Studio can be asked.

Additional remarks

I. You will need a laptop with SDL Trados Studio 2019 or an older version. Studio runs only on Windows. If you don’t have Windows pc, you will need to run a virtual windows on your laptop. Any questions? Just get in touch!
II. You don’t have a license for SDL Trados Studio (2019) yet? You can download a trial version from the SDL website or borrow a temporary license from OCPE.
III. Participants of this workshop receive a significant discount if they purchase Studio 2019 or upgrade from an older version.

Repetition of the workflow and most important features

Ken De Wachter is the founder of Flynxo, a small-scale consultancy agency specialising in multilingual documentation management. Ken is one of the few SDL Approved trainers in the BeNeLux, and even the only native Dutch in the world. Besides SDL, he is also certified for Memsource and MadCap Flare. He teaches technical communication, terminology and translation technology.

Ken mainly works for Collibra, the university of Leuven and the OCPE. Thanks to his practical experience in managing and translating technical documentation, he effortlessly combines academic insights with the practical implementation in the translation and language industry.

Paricipants will be asked to complete an online question form regarding their experience with Studio and their wishes and needs for the workshop.
